The team did themselves proud, it’s the 1st year they have competed and they came 4th overall in the country and came away with 2 awards. The field consisted of 16 teams, competing in alliances to transport blocks to baskets, raise flags and hang from a pull-up bar.
- 1st Place in the Control Award – This is awarded to the team who used innovative control solutions for their robot, part of the challenge was to get your robot to hang from a pull-up bar. Metal Minds designed a lead screw and hook for this and where the only team at the competition to get a robot to “hang”.
- 3rd Place in the Inspire award, this formally judged award is given to the team that truly embodied the ‘challenge’ of the FTC program. The winner of this award is invited to attend the world championships, so maybe next year.
The team would like to acknowledge and thank is our alliance partners that helped us get through to the Semi-Finals and in particular we want to say a big thank you to the BaCoNeers and good luck for the World Championships.
We must also say a big THANK YOU to all our sponsors.
